An oasis of peace in the hills of Tuscany
Had a great family holiday in the hills of Tuscany -- the farm stands on its own in the rolling hillocks, providing for tranquility and a sense of isolation in a basically empty landscape. The vivid southern nature abuzz all around, cows and horses can be heard from afar. Parrots, horses, donkeys, peacocks, cats and dogs are all present on the farm; the dog we took along for the holiday blended right in and enjoyed the stay as much as the rest of the family did. The hosts are simply great, very cordial and kind people, ready to help and recommend/arrange for trips and pastimes -- thank you Franco and Millan, Valentino and Therese! Valentino's dinners are great, presenting the authentic delicious cuisine of Tuscany, and I recommend it to all who visit. A lot of sights to see in the vicinity -- Abbey of Saint Antimo, San Galgano church ruin, Montalcino, Massa Marittima are all within 30-35mins drive time. Sienna 50mins, San Gimignano 90mins, Florence 2hrs.
